Effective October 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Julie Leblanc LLC, doing business as Alice & Roméo (“Alice & Roméo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit alice-romeo.com, book a stay directly with us, or stay at our Property. Reservations made through third-party platforms are also subject to the privacy policies of those platforms.

1. Information We Collect

Booking information: name, email address, telephone number, billing address, stay dates, number of guests, names of registered guests, special requests, and messages you send us.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We receive limited information such as the card brand, the last four digits, and payment status.

Photo ID: the primary Guest submits a valid driver’s licence or passport through Stripe Identity so that we can verify identity and match it to the reservation, and a selfie that Stripe compares with the ID photo (a biometric comparison), with the Guest’s express consent.

Security authorization and claims: records of authorization holds and charges, and photos, invoices, and estimates related to a damage or cleaning claim.

Camera footage: exterior security cameras cover the parking area, the walkway, and the main entrance door.

Website and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical data collected by our website and booking system. We may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website and booking system to function, and analytics tools that help us understand how the website is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

2. How We Use Information

  • To process and manage reservations, payments, refunds, and communications.
  • To verify identity and apply the age and occupancy requirements in our Rental Agreement & Booking Terms.
  • To prepare for your stay, respond to requests, and handle emergencies.
  • To protect the Property, our Guests, and our neighbors, to investigate incidents, and to handle damage and payment disputes.
  • To meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations, including lodging taxes.
  • To operate and secure our website and booking system.

We do not sell personal information. We use photo ID only to verify identity and, where needed, to handle a related claim or legal requirement. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you updates about Alice & Roméo. We send newsletters only to people who have subscribed or agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each message.

3. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as needed with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf, including our booking and checkout provider (OwnerRez), our payment and identity verification provider (Stripe), and our email, newsletter, analytics, and website hosting providers;
  • Emergency responders and public authorities when required by law or needed to protect safety;
  • Insurers and professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers) where reasonably necessary; and
  • A successor business if we sell or transfer the business, subject to this Policy.

We do not share personal information for third-party advertising.

4. Photo ID Retention

Identity verification is performed by Stripe Identity, which is subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy. Stripe collects and stores the photo ID and selfie images on our behalf. The images are accessible only to authorized personnel, and we will delete or redact them within thirty (30) days after Check-Out, unless they are needed for a pending claim, dispute, or legal requirement.

5. Other Retention

  • Booking and payment records: kept for the period required by Vermont and federal law for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, and as long as needed to handle any related claim.
  • Camera footage: kept only as long as reasonably necessary for safety, security, and incident review.
  • Messages and other records: kept as long as needed to manage the reservation and any related claim.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@alice-romeo.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we may be unable to delete information we must keep for tax, legal, or pending-claim purposes. Depending on where you live, including Québec, Canada, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to ask about them. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time.

8. Transfers Across Borders

We are based in Vermont, United States. Your information is processed and stored in the United States and in any other place where our service providers operate. If you book from Canada or another country, your information will be transferred to those places.

9. Children

Our stays are for adults aged 25 and older. Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
